Oakland officials are reporting an encouraging trend in the city's crime rate, with a significant decrease in homicides and other violent crimes this year. Violent crime rates in Oakland have taken a nosedive, with homicides seeing a nearly 30% drop from last year. "But the reduction is by no means is a victory flag for the city of Oakland," Joshi said, as per KTVU.
