RETAIL THEFT
The staff at a store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road said three people grabbed several pieces of high-end clothing, valued at $1,062, and ran out of the store at 12:10 p.m. Nov. 22, without paying. The staff told them to stop, but they reportedly refused. As the staff chased after them, the trio were dropping the stolen clothing. As police arrived, the three were still fleeing the area. After a short foot chase, the trio were located. They were identified as: Talika Lewis, of Chicago; T'airra Lewis, of Chicago; and Erin Seals, of Matteson. A court date of Nov. 24 was assigned.
The loss prevention staff at a grocery store in the 800 block of Willow Road reported at 1:48 p.m. Nov. 22, a male had loaded up a shopping cart full of groceries. The man utilized the self-checkout lane, but only rang up half of the items. He then walked out of the store with the stolen items and attempted to load it into his yellow SUV. The loss prevention staff stopped him and explained why he needed to pay for the items. At first, the male complied by walking back into the store, but refused to provide any of his personal information. Prior to the officer arriving, the male fled the store and quickly drove away without the $232.85 worth of stolen items.
RETAIL THEFT
The loss prevention staff at a clothing store in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 3:32 p.m. Nov. 24, they had seen two females enter the store. One of the females was seen taking the tags and security devices off of clothing for sale. The female put the items in a bag and walked to the return counter to unlawfully return the items she never purchased. When the return was denied, the female walked out of the store with the clothing items without ever paying for them. When she was confronted by the staff, she dropped the stolen items and fled in a gray Toyota. The other female confronted the staff on why they were bothering her friend, but she fled prior to the officers arriving.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Police were watching a dark-colored Infiniti sedan parked at 2:04 a.m. Nov. 25, in front of a closed liquor store in the 2700 block of Dundee Road. As the officer approached the sedan, three people ran from the store to their vehicle. As they drove out of the lot, the officer activated his emergency lights. The vehicle fled from the officer at a high rate of speed. The officer returned to the store and found the front window shattered. Several bottles of liquor were on the floor. When the owner of the store arrived, he determined there was over $7,900 in stolen merchandise and damages.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Two religious centers, located in the 2500 block of Jasper Court and the 100 block of Revere Drive, reported on Nov. 25 receiving a letter in the mail from a Chicago address. The letter contained a non-specific threat and did not name the religious centers in the letter. The return address on the envelope was found to be fake.
