Kirkland Lake woman charged with armed robbery – CTVNews
A Kirkland Lake woman, 36, accused in a home invasion and robbery earlier this month has been charged, police say.
Officers were called to a robbery at a Station Road home in Kirkland Lake around 2 a.m. Jan. 4, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.
“The caller reported that three people broke into an apartment, assaulted the caller and three others within the apartment, then fled the scene,” police said.
“Victims sustained minor injuries and declined medical assistance.”
The female suspect was arrested as a result of the ongoing investigation.
She has been charged with robbery with a weapon, disguise with intent, having a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breaking and entering a dwelling house to commit an indictable offence and failing to comply with a probation order.
She was not charged with assault.
“The accused and the victims were known to each other,” OPP Const. Shelby Olson told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email Wednesday morning.
“It is unclear the exact intentions, but the accused had been attempting to take funds from the victims.”
OPP is continuing its search for the other two suspects in this incident.
She was released after a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 30.
