Video showing a brazen Richmond Hill jewellery store heist featured an equally brazen bystander who taunted the culprits, calling them “losers” and “lowlifes” while they hammered away at display cases.

The robbery, at a Peoples Jewellers store in Hillcrest Mall, took place on Monday afternoon at around 4 p.m.

The video begins with one of four masked suspects hovering over a screaming employee as she lays on the ground.

It then pans over to show three other suspects hammering away at the store’s display cases and bagging items.

“Call the police!” a man can be heard yelling repeatedly.

The same man then starts reprimanding the crooks.

“Look at these f****n lowlifes bro, look at these lowlifes,” he says.

When the felonious foursome start running out of the store they’ve just ransacked, the bold man chases after them and continues to barrage them with stinging barbs.

“Yeah let’s run away,” he yells, accompanied by a string of unpublishable profanities.

“Get a f****n job, you losers!”

The unidentified man follows them to their awaiting getaway car, which speeds off, taking note of the licence plate and make and model of the car.

A York Regional Police (YRP) spokesperson told 680 NewsRadio that four men, all wearing masks and medical gloves, entered the store and began smashing the glass display cases with hammers before fleeing with a quantity of jewellery.

Police said a jewellery store employee received minor injuries and was assessed by paramedics at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

No descriptions of the suspects have been released.
