Three Pickup Trucks Stolen During Early Morning Break-In at Georgetown Business

GEORGETOWN, ON — Halton Regional Police are actively investigating after three pickup trucks were stolen from a commercial property during an early morning break-in on Thursday, July 4. The incident, which took place in a typically quiet industrial area, has raised concerns about security at local businesses.

Suspects Breach Locked Gate to Access Commercial Lot

Police say the theft occurred around 3:30 a.m. at a business located on Armstrong Avenue, in the heart of Georgetown’s industrial district. According to preliminary reports, the suspects cut through the lock on the main gate to gain entry to the commercial parking lot. Once inside, they managed to start and drive away with three pickup trucks belonging to the business.

The stolen vehicles were reportedly parked overnight within the fenced property, which is commonly used to store fleet and service vehicles. Investigators believe the theft was likely planned and executed quickly, possibly involving more than one individual.

No Arrests or Suspect Descriptions Yet

As of now, no arrests have been made, and suspect descriptions are currently unavailable. Officers from Halton Regional Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Bureau are leading the case and have been working to obtain surveillance footage from nearby buildings and traffic cameras in the area.

Authorities are also checking for any signs of the stolen vehicles through local and provincial tracking systems, in hopes of recovering them before they are potentially moved out of the region or dismantled for parts.

Impact on Local Business and Security Concerns

The affected business, which has not been publicly named, is now working with police to provide additional details and documentation related to the stolen trucks. The theft has not only impacted day-to-day operations but has also raised security concerns among neighboring businesses.

“We rely heavily on those trucks for our daily operations. Losing three at once is a big setback,” an anonymous employee told local media. “We’re reviewing our own security footage and tightening access controls going forward.”

Police Urge Public to Share Information

Halton Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Armstrong Avenue area between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on July 4 to come forward. Even small details, such as seeing unfamiliar vehicles or people in the vicinity, could help piece together the timeline of events.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Halton Regional Police Service at their non-emergency line or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting their website.
