Police ID 6 arrested in Canada Day home invasion; armed suspects still at large

Police have released the names of the six people arrested in connection to a home invasion Tuesday near Huntsville that prompted a lengthy closure of Highway 11 and sparked a shelter in place order.

The OPP continue to search for more suspects related to this incident.

Shortly before 5 a.m., police responded to reports of an armed home invasion in the Hillside area, east of Huntsville. The investigation eventually prompted the closure of Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River and Coopers Falls roads and between Canning and Graham roads.

Six people were arrested, but police believe more suspects, who might be armed and dangerous, remain on the loose, along with a stolen silver Honda CRV with Ontario licence plate CZFE 895.

Anyone who sees the suspects is advised to not approach them and to call 911 immediately.

Moesaiah Edwards, 22, of Mississauga, and Dante Williams, 27, of Oshawa, have been charged with the following:

  • Robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm
  • Kidnapping (two counts)
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm while committing an offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Robbery with violence (two counts)
  • Break, enter dwelling house — commit an indictable offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

D’Andre Brathwaite, 20, of Ajax, has been charged with the following:

  • Robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm
  • Kidnapping (two counts)
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm while committing an offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Robbery with violence (two counts)
  • Break, enter dwelling house — commit an indictable offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Failure to comply with a release order other than to attend court

Rayquoi Chow, 20, of Brampton, has been charged with the following:

  • Robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm
  • Kidnapping (two counts)
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm while committing an offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Robbery with violence (two counts)
  • Break, enter dwelling house — commit an indictable offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Failure to comply with a release order other than to attend court (two counts)

Peter Stewart, 26, of North York, has been charged with the following:

  • Robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm
  • Kidnapping (two counts)
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm while committing an offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Robbery with violence (two counts)
  • Break, enter dwelling house — commit an indictable offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order

A 16-year-old Toronto resident, whose name cannot be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with the following:

  • Kidnapping (two counts)
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm while committing an offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm (two counts)
  • Break, enter dwelling house — commit an indictable offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Failure to comply with sentence

All the accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing Wednesday in Bracebridge.
